Everything Comes To those Who Wait

On Saturday morning a piece of hopeful news sat in the e-Mail box. An Acrobat file which contained the amendments to the Town And Country Planning Act 2008. For those of you who haven't had the time to follow the events surrounding "The Great Wall of Prees" the story goes that despite local complaints the Council allowed the errection of the fence that runs parallel to Church Street on the grounds that it provided secure storage (it's never stored anything) and it was a protective measure for…See More

Core Strategy

We asked, in conjunction with the Parish Council, for the Shropshire Council to come out and talk to us about what the Core Strategy means for Prees Village. On Thursday night 80 people turned out to hear Jake Berriman give a presentation on the Core Strategy and together with Cllr Malcom Price and Cllr Paul Wynn answered villagers questions. This strategy is going to affect, what we can build, where we can build it, what services we have, how we manage waste, provide transport, protect our…See More

Say what you think about what the owner of The Square has done in the last month

We have finally got a meeting with more senior Council Staff next Thursday (we hope) to talk about different aspects of The Square and what we want done.It would be wonderful if you could post your comments (politely please) here, so that we can give an up to date view on what the owner of The Square has done, or not done since July when we were told categorically by Colin Richards, live on Radio, that the whole site would be improved by Christmas. What do you think then?Just click on the "Add…See More

People you may wish to contact about One the Square

One of the things that you can do, in addition to lodging your views on this website, is to contact your Councillor and ask for his comments.  Many of you will know that Gerald Dakin who was our Councillor for many years in Prees, and knows the village well, has moved to represent the Whitchurch ward, and we now have a new Councillor,  Paul Wynn.  Click "continue"  below for contact details for Paul and Gerald.

We think it might be worth while to consider getting in touch with both…

UPDATE - Important Village Meeting - UPDATE

Deadline for submissions on the Core Strategy is today Friday 2nd October. Thank you to all who have contributed. The pile of books and response forms in the post office has disappeared so lots of you have contributed. Click here Core Strategy update for updates and to hear the recordings of the Public Meeting at which the Council answered our questions last week.

Progress on The Square

We had hoped to have a meeting with Edwina Smart, the senior officer from the North Shropshire planning team, next Thursday 1st October. However, she has told our Councillor Paul Wynn that she is not able to attend and proposed that we meet with the senior conservation officer instead. This is not acceptable and we have said so. We are going to delay the meeting until mid October so that we can be sure to get both planning and conservation officers together to make our point.

If you have any views you want shared why not place them on the website -we have created some space below for you to have your say! Go on. Tell us what you think. It will help us to speak for you.

Progress so far with the work on site........
Well the Council are still maintaing that the owner of The Square will have it completed by Christmas. Countdown is still on and we are wondering whether to place bets, but I don't think any bookies would take us on do you?
